Setup Guide: The Configuration Wizard

This Setup Guide aims to provide a visual step-by-step guide to help you easily get CyberLink Live up and running on your PC to allow it to be remotely accessible from any location via just an Internet connected web browser.

Step 3: Remote Access Setup

3.1 Intel® Remote Wake Technology configuration

This next step of the Configuration Wizard will only be shown if your PC supports Intel® Remote Wake Technology. This technology incorporated in CyberLink Live allows you to conserve energy and the lifespan of your PC whilst using CyberLink Live.

Click on the checkbox to enable Intel® Remote Wake Technology for CyberLink Live.

You can also click on the 'Trial' button to test if your PC supports this technology. Note that when doing this test, your PC will go into Sleep mode for 1 minute. Please do not move your mouse or touch your keyboard during this time. After 1 minute, your PC will automatically 'wake up' out of Sleep mode and report on the test result.

Click 'Next' to continue once you have concluded your trial test and enabled Intel® Remote Wake Technology.

3.2 Webcam configuration

This next step of the Configuration Wizard will only be shown if a compatible webcam was detected on your PC during the installation process.

In this screen, we have offered more security options for you. You can disable webcam access in CyberLink Live, or you can also set the CyberLink Live application to notify you anytime your webcam is being accessed remotely.

Next, select the sound device in the dropdown list and set the local path to store recorded webcam video feeds. You can also set the recording file format and the maximum total file size of webcam recordings.

'Advanced Settings' also allows you to set up several email addresses to receive notifications in the event your webcam stops recording or if it detects any movement (motion detection recording mode).

Tip: The recorded webcam video feeds' quality and file size is relative to the recording file format you select. The larger the value in Kbps of the file format, the better the video quality but conversely the larger the file size.

Click 'Next' once you are done with the webcam configuration.

3.3 TV configuration

This next step of the Configuration Wizard will only be shown if a compatible TV tuner card was detected on your PC during the installation process.

Select an MCE Engine.

Based on your TV Engine selection, more options will be displayed here. Select your source device from the list. If you can't find the source device which you have installed on your PC, click on the 'Refresh tuner' button to search again.

Select the region where your PC is located in and press the 'Scan for channels now' button. The TV channel list area will start to populate shortly. You may also rename or delete any channels from this list. If your TV tuner card supports Digital TV (DVB-T / ATSC) or hardware-encoding, click on the 'Advanced settings' button to select the respective video/audio decoders for it.

Click 'Next' once you are done with the TV configuration.

3.4 Media Paths configuration

The next step in the Configuration Wizard will guide you in setting up the media paths on your PC that you want to make accessible from a remote location. These paths will be to directories on your PC that contain your photo, video and audio collections that you may want to access remotely.

Click the respective 'Add' buttons to set specific paths to your photos, videos and audio files. If you do not see the media content listed in the folders you have selected, press the 'Rescan Media' button to refresh the listing. Note that any sub-folders within selected paths will also be accessible remotely.

Click 'Next' once you are done with the Media Paths configuration.

3.5 Document Paths configuration

The next step in the Configuration Wizard will guide you in setting up the document paths on your PC that you want to make accessible from a remote location. These paths will be to directories on your PC that contain your documents that you may want to access remotely.

Click the respective 'Add' button to set specific paths to documents. You may also set passwords for specific paths to protect your important documents within those directories. Note that any sub-folders within selected paths will also be accessible remotely.

Click 'Next' once you are done with the Document paths configuration.

3.6 Remote Download configuration

The next step in the Configuration Wizard will guide you in setting up the path to store downloaded files on your PC that were initiated remotely using the Remote Download Plug-in.

Select the path here and click 'Next' to finish the configuration wizard.

Congratulations on completing the set up process!

You have now successfully installed and configured CyberLink Live on your PC.
